After Northwoods Whitetails designed and built this blend in 2017 and 2018 for trials in Wisconsin and Michigan, we are excited to bring it to market (2019) for every one. Many of our customers have asked for this type of blend, and its finally available. We use this blend as a green forage base for one side of many of our food plots. With multiple forages deer love (forage soybeans, forage peas. and frost tolerant oats), this is a great blend for food plots in ag areas. Deer love young soybeans and this has proven to be a tremendous attraction in September and October.
PLANTING:
We recommend using 100 pounds per ace of the Green Forage Blend, with a planting date of early to mid August. We also recommend adding 8 pounds per acre of red clover as well as 5 pounds per acre of our forage radishes (both at the time of planting ). Then, a few weeks after planting, we recommend broadcasting 100 pounds per acre of our winter rye. Yes, that is a lot of seed per acre, but remember you are trying to produce the most fall food in a small space.
Fertilizer is 100-150 pounds per acre of 19-19-19 ( with out seeing a soil test)
This is one of our best selling blends that has proven to be an amazing draw for whitetails.

I have used this blend in a plot on our property for several years now and it always attracts deer. it is a very consistent performer for us!
Awesome product will plant again
Planted in a well prepared seed bed two days before rain and was surprised to see the growth a day afterwards. I rolled the seed down with a lawn roller for good ground contact and seems to be doing very well.
We had a good rain within 2 day of planting. The seed flowered within a week. Looks promising.

Put it out and got a small couple showers,65-70% came up then no rain for a month.Its bare did get a rain 3 days ago and hoping it springs up.if not contemplating re-doing plot. Any suggestions
Looks impressive at this point
We have been plagued with drought since I seeded. However, this week we have begun receiving rain. Since I used a seeder, the take looks good and is coming on better now. I used this last year without a seeder and I came back to buy more this year. That tells you all you need to know. I appreciate the advice I was given by John. It's a great product!
No rain for 16 days. After first rain plotted exploded. Very happy so far

Product arrived within a few days of ordering. Packaging was very sturdy and the 50 pound bag was not damaged during shipping. I was able to get a window of rain for a week so I planted into the buckwheat then terminated buckwheat with roundup. Appears like the seed(s) had quick germination within the week. Complete results should be available by the end of August.
Been using Northwoods seed for several years and never disapointed. Order is always sent out within a couple days. Their pricing is best in the industry.
It's simply the best. Planted on Saturday July 26, had a good rain Sunday July 27 and had germination this morning July 30. Northwood Whitetail see - and service - is simply the best.
